100 Days of Summer and {….}

Marathon training #2 starts mid June and in celebration I’ve decided to kick-start it with a fun 100 Days of Summer & No Soda! If you’ve been with me a for a while, you know that me and soda are pretty close buddies. I am interested though, in seeing how/if my body changes through training and no soda. This curiosity is strong enough to commit to 100 days of eliminating it from my daily life.

I’m scared.

I have a good feeling I’ll go through some tough days, so, I would LOVE it if you joined me this summer. What do you want to commit 100 days to? It doesn’t have to be deprivation like me and my no soda, but it could be something like 100 Days of More Water or 100 Days of More Me (where you devote something however small to you). I know that Runner’s World is hosting a Summer Running Streak that started Memorial Day to 4th of July,–why not extend it to 100 days πŸ™‚

I brought my 100 Days plan to my Healthy Moms group online and they had some great ideas for themselves–

100 Days of:

*Healthier Options–replacing one thing everyday with a healthier option
*No TV
*New Healthier Foods (trying new tastes and recipes)
*Positive Thinking

I’ll leave you with a couple of days to think about it. I hope you decide to keep me company! ❀ ETA: This will start June 1st and end Sept. 8th.

–What ideas would you throw in to the 100 Days plan?

–Do you think I’ll last 100 Days without a Coke?

  1. I definitely think you’ll do it. You can do anything you put your mind to! πŸ™‚ I might just join you on this as well. Diet Coke and I have seen WAY too much of each other lately.

  2. I gave up Coke last summer and felt SO GOOD!!! I broke down a few times and had some but felt terrible (physically) afterwards!

I’m in for the challenge – just have to narrow it down what I’ll do. Ideas for 100 Day Challenge: Focus on all relationships (friends, husband, family); read each day for yourself; cook new recipes; OR 100 Days Outside!

PS – I think you can do it πŸ™‚

  3. Ohhh, no soda huh? You can totally do it. Why do you drink it? For the caffeine? For the bubbles? If it’s for the carbonation you could always get a Sodastream. A friend who was trying to stop drinking soda got one of these and it worked. BTW, what training plan are you using that you start MCM training in June? Mine starts in July?!

  4. This is an awesome idea! I totally think you can do it! Living in Seward for the summer means I’m giving up a lot of stuff I’m usually obsessed with…TV, Chipotle/Panera, fast food in general, etc. I feel like I’m basically doing this challenge without even knowing it! Are you doing the run streak again? I thought about it but I didn’t want to take on too much while I’m adjusting to life in Alaska and I didn’t want to burn out.

    • Oh wow! You are “giving up” a lot! I decided not to do the run streak–I’m enjoying the rest and it’s SUPER hot here during these months. I kinda like the winter one just because that’s usually when I eat more jaja!!

  5. I’m in but will have to think of something good that I won’t cheat at πŸ˜‰ I gave up soda long time ago. I did take up having an occasional sparkling water. It seemed to help and I prefer it now.
