Marathon training #2 starts mid June and in celebration I’ve decided to kick-start it with a fun 100 Days of Summer & No Soda! If you’ve been with me a for a while, you know that me and soda are pretty close buddies. I am interested though, in seeing how/if my body changes through training and no soda. This curiosity is strong enough to commit to 100 days of eliminating it from my daily life.
I’m scared.
I have a good feeling I’ll go through some tough days, so, I would LOVE it if you joined me this summer. What do you want to commit 100 days to? It doesn’t have to be deprivation like me and my no soda, but it could be something like 100 Days of More Water or 100 Days of More Me (where you devote something however small to you). I know that Runner’s World is hosting a Summer Running Streak that started Memorial Day to 4th of July,–why not extend it to 100 days π
I brought my 100 Days plan to my Healthy Moms group online and they had some great ideas for themselves–
100 Days of:
*Healthier Options–replacing one thing everyday with a healthier option
*No TV
*New Healthier Foods (trying new tastes and recipes)
*Positive Thinking
I’ll leave you with a couple of days to think about it. I hope you decide to keep me company! β€ ETA: This will start June 1st and end Sept. 8th.
–What ideas would you throw in to the 100 Days plan?
–Do you think I’ll last 100 Days without a Coke?
I definitely think you’ll do it. You can do anything you put your mind to! π I might just join you on this as well. Diet Coke and I have seen WAY too much of each other lately.
I’m so glad you’re doing this with me! β€
If you can do the R2R2R run, you can certainly last 100 days without coke! I am going to do this challenge with you but I am going to give up fast food. I am kind of a McD’s breakfast junkie….
Glad you’re in! I’m a McD’s every part of the day junkie lol!
I gave up Coke last summer and felt SO GOOD!!! I broke down a few times and had some but felt terrible (physically) afterwards!
I’m in for the challenge – just have to narrow it down what I’ll do. Ideas for 100 Day Challenge: Focus on all relationships (friends, husband, family); read each day for yourself; cook new recipes; OR 100 Days Outside!
PS – I think you can do it π
Yay! I’m glad you’re in–I have a feeling this is going to be REALLY hard for me and it’ll help having support. Thank you! π
Ohhh, no soda huh? You can totally do it. Why do you drink it? For the caffeine? For the bubbles? If it’s for the carbonation you could always get a Sodastream. A friend who was trying to stop drinking soda got one of these and it worked. BTW, what training plan are you using that you start MCM training in June? Mine starts in July?!
Oh, mine totally starts in July but I’m kick starting it by changing my eating habits starting in June π I’m hoping that it will help when I start my training training lol!
In the beginning, it is hard to quit with soft drinks, but after a couple of weeks, you get used and will not want to drink it again.
I drank nothing but Coke for most of my life. I can hardly taste it these days. #success
That’s good to hear!! I’m having anxiety already over it lol!!
This is an awesome idea! I totally think you can do it! Living in Seward for the summer means I’m giving up a lot of stuff I’m usually obsessed with…TV, Chipotle/Panera, fast food in general, etc. I feel like I’m basically doing this challenge without even knowing it! Are you doing the run streak again? I thought about it but I didn’t want to take on too much while I’m adjusting to life in Alaska and I didn’t want to burn out.
Oh wow! You are “giving up” a lot! I decided not to do the run streak–I’m enjoying the rest and it’s SUPER hot here during these months. I kinda like the winter one just because that’s usually when I eat more jaja!!
I’m in but will have to think of something good that I won’t cheat at π I gave up soda long time ago. I did take up having an occasional sparkling water. It seemed to help and I prefer it now.
I love hearing soda success stories–gives me hope π
Hmmm. Maybe I should do something like 30 push ups a day for 100 days. I don’t know if I’m up for giving anything up at the moment.
It doesn’t have to be deprivation–one of my friends is eating a bowl of fruit every day since she struggle with fruit π
Good for you! I gave up soda in 1993. So I’ve been soda free since ninety three. I’ll join you in a challenge, just let me know what you want it to be!
Lol! Maybe a rhyme every day for 100 days?
Haha, I hate for the mood to sour, but I’m not sure I have that much brain power. π
Don’t be negative, Scott. It’ll just take some extra thought.
Ha!
Wow, that’s an impressive goal! I don’t know if I could part with my Diet Coke that long! yes, I should but it’s so good. Good luck!
Yeah, I’m a little nervous about it. 100 days is a long time but I’m hoping I can make it lol!
I am going to try to use my cell phone less in the evening when my son is still awake. I feel like I have my face in my phone to much these days.
This is such a great one–I should do this one too!
